Air filters are essential component of industrial ventilation system used to remove airborne particles (dust, hazardous gases, chemical vapors, oils, pollens) from inside the manufacturing plant. Different types of air filters can be used depending on the size of the component to be filtered from the air. These air filters required cleaning and replacement in order to ensure the healthy air flow. Some of the most used types of air filters in manufacturing industries are as below, Fiber Glass Panel Filters :

Fiber Glass Panel Filters are sqaure or rectangular shape filters designed for general air filtration applications. They are composed of very fine glass fibers (borosilicate glass fibers designed to filter dust, pollen, bacteria from the contaminated air. Fiber glass panel filters may serve as a pre-filters extending the lifetime of the second step filters in the industrial applications as they can only trap large particles and are less effective usually in capturing the smaller ones.
Fiber glass panel filters can clean particles up to 10 micrometer (μm) or large.
Pleated Filters:

Pleated filters used in HVAC systems are made up of pleated cloth or cotton that increases its filtration surface area used to efficiently capture smaller particles like pollen, dust, dander and small airborne pollutants. They are most common in use because of their lower cost and better filtration performance. Pleated filters can filter particles between 0.3 and 10 microns.
HEPA Filters: HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) is the type of pleated filter used in Industries , health care systems because of its higher MERV rating above than 16. These filters are very effective in capturing small sized particles even equal to o.3 micron with 99.97 % efficiency.
